The Risk Management Institute is a new initiative of the American College of Cardiology designed to increase patient safety and reduce medical professional liability claims risks. The Risk Management Institute provides cardiovascular practices with risk management education they can trust. Educational resources are created specifically for cardiologists, by cardiologists, practice managers and nurses. The College is partnering with the Physician Insurers Association of America (PIAA) to review closed cardiovascular claims from the past 20 years and identify trends. This information will be leveraged to provide practices with important information that can help improve patient safety and mitigate national cardiovascular liability and lower insurance premiums.

By joining this national collaborative, practices will receive:

Case studies with commentary, CME credited education and access to an online forum
Weekly e-alerts on time-sensitive risk-management topics
Quarterly eBulletins filled with real-life applications of techniques and procedures to reduce risk and mitigate exposure to professional liability claims and much more
